Error description
Sync fails on Windows Project hierarchy when Workspace is maintained to an Unix path. Synergy 7.1.0.2.01. Linux server, Windows client in web mode. Under some conditions subprojects that have a maintained work area prevent being able to do a Sync on the project hierarchy when running in web mode. In fact the subprojects are both relative to parent so the subprojects should be completely skipped during the sync but instead fail on the sync and, in the case of web mode, prevent the sync from returning results. Reproduction Prerequisite: Have a small project with the work area marked as relative to parent (but not maintained). This will be used as a later in the steps. The project should be local to the current db. 1) Create a new project in the prep state (Standard Integration testing purpose works). 2) Add a static subproject (with relative to parent WA, may not be necessary) to the prep project. 3) Run Sync Work Area Members and subprojects on the prep project. *** Note this should work w/o error. 4) Using a separate UNIX/Linux client, maintain the WA of the static project being used as a UNIX path. I did the maintain using a UNIX classic client but I don t think which UNIX client you use is important in this step. 5) Now, back in your windows Java client run Sync Work Area Members and subprojects again. This time the sync will fail critically (no sync results displayed). Note that there is a similar, but not critical because sync results are still displayed, bug in the non-web mode client that I think has been there for sometime. Non web mode displays an error in the message view but still reports the result of the sync. In non-web mode the errors in the message view are: Warning: Work area path '/0b/home/ccm_root/ccm_wa/71/api#aud#1~current_20070928', not absolute. Can't sync work area for project 'aud#1/project/api/current_20070928' to this client. Serious: Errors occurred during synchronization --- Begin Error Reporting --- Errors during work area synchronization. Work area path '/0b/home/ccm_root/ccm_wa/71/api#aud#1~current_20070928', not absolute. Can't sync work area for project 'aud#1/project/api/current_20070928' to this client. Errors occurred during synchronization --- End Error Reporting ---

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a subproject has a work area path that is not absolute for the client (as a static Unix project used in a Windows hierarchy), sync of hierarchy fails, but should just give a warning on the subproject.
Problem conclusion
Fixed in Synergy 7.2.0.2 and planned to be fixed in upcoming 7.1 .0.5 iFix001.
