PM43579: BMS editor adding field in edit structure changes field properties of table

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer is editing a BMS file that contains an array.  When
  adding a field to the array using the 'Edit Structure' 'Add'
  button, the field properties of the array change.  For instance
  the color of the array was 'inherit', but after the add the
  color is blue.
  
  To recreate problem:
  Open BMS editor for provided BMS file that contains array and
  select to edit structure on row 9 in order to add a field.
  First, change the field M-DTIBAJA to have a length of 10 instead
  of 15, and then they add the field M-RESPON to have a length of
  2.
  I added this field at column 42.
  
  After saving the changes the some of the field's attributes have
  changed.  All fields did have a color of INHERIT,
  Presentation-?Highlighting-?Inherit.  But, after adding this
  field they now have the color blue, and Highlighting is OFF.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When adding a field to the array using the "Edit Structure"
  "Add" button, the field properties of the array change.
  

Problem conclusion

• Issue resolved and the field attributes are no longer changed
  when a field is edited in the structure.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.0.3 Refresh Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
