Error description

  • The following error occurs if the WebSphere Application Server
facets are not enabled and an attempt is made to generate the
JAX-WS web-service code:

'Tools for WebSphere v6.1 must be installed in order to generate
WebSphere v6.1 compliant code'

When a project containing JAX-WS Web services or clients is
deployed via the Java EE =? Prepare for Deployment popup
action or added to a running server, the JAX-WS Deployer
will produce the message: "Tools for WebSphere v6.1 must be
installed to generate WebSphere v6.1 compliant code" when
the project does not have the WebSphere coexistence and
extended facets checked.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The JAX-WS deployer will now ignore projects that do not
have the WebSphere coexistence and extended facets checked.

The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application
Developer v8.0.4.
