Error description

  • When using the CICS TG resource adapters with an application
    that specifies <res-auth>Application</res-auth>, passing a
different user on the getConnection() call (using the
ConnectionRequestInfo object) results in a new connection to
CICS being created and used, even if one was previously
    available.

An existing connection, if available, should be used instead

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When using application managed authentication, the
ConnectionRequestInfo object passed on the getConnection()
call gets a connection with specific credentials. WebSphere
creates a new connection object if one with the same credentials
is not available in the connection pool, and each new user is
    allocated a new connection object.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS TG has been changed so that it allows WebSphere to match
and reuse connections that were previously allocated to
different users. The security details are updated to reflect
    the new user's credentials.
