PM40429: UNABLE TO RESTORE PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF CONTENT ITEM

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Unable to restore previous versions of content items.

Steps to recreate this issue is

    - Log into WCM (authoring Portlet is set as the landing page)

    - Navigate in authoring portlet to any library and any site
    area.
    - Select a random piece of content and select the "Read" button
    - Select the "Versions" button.
    - Select any of the item versions shown in the list.
    - Press the "Restore" or "Restore as Published" button.
    - (Optional Step), select a different path, workflow and/or
    authoring template
    - Press the "OK" button
    - Browser looks busy for about 1 second, then stops, remaining
on same page, which appears to have not changed, no confirmation
    or error message shown.
    - Repeating selecting "OK" shows the same behavior.
    - Selecting "Cancel" goes back to the list of item versions.
Selecting "Done" goes back to the item in "Read" mode.
    - Reviewing the item and content in general shows that no draft
item has been created and the same item version originally in
    published state remains in place.
