PM39561: steps are skipped upon restart even though build owner has access to all steps

Error description

  • Upon restart of failed build steps are skipped. The build owner
who restarts the build is in the access group that owns the
project. If the Execute Inaccessible Step permission is added
then the steps are executed as expected on the restart. There
are no associate Build Forge artifacts that are owned by another
access group that user is not apart associated to the steps.

1.The sync commands on restart does not work randomly
2.If the step access is default and the user has no Execute
Inaccessible Step permission, after sync commands, the steps
    will be skipped.

Problem conclusion

  • Issues and causes:
    1. The sync commands on restart does not work randomly
because the bf_step_id is not correct when getting the new
command from bf_steps table. It is stripped the numbers and
    one b at the beginning.
    2. If the step access is default and the user has no Execute
Inaccessible Step permission, after sync commands, the step
will be skipped. Because when sync commands, if
bf_steps.bf_level is 0, we still use that value 0 to set
bf_results.bf_level which leads to no access error and the
    step is skipped.
