APAR status

Error description

  • When using copySiteFrameworkDocument if the user is not an
editor on the item being moved the following error is logged
IWKPY1015X: Unauthorized access by.  This same item is however
moved in the Authoring UI without error because the authoring UI
is using contributor access.
According to the Information Center the copy can be performed by
contributor.

Local fix

  • Use the authoring UI or give the user edit access on the item
being moved.

Detailed Problem Description:
Description When using copySiteFrameworkDocument if the user is
not an editor on the item being moved the following error is log
ged IWKPY1015X: Unauthorized access by. This same item is howeve
r moved in the Authoring UI without error because the authoring
UI is using contributor access. According to the Information Cen
ter the copy can be performed by contributor.
Customer's may see IWKPY1015X: UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS BY   when usi
ng copySiteFrameworkDocument if the user does not have at least
editor access to the item being copied.

Problem conclusion

  • Problem Analysis:
The WCM code was checking for editor access.  In the authoring U
I the user must have contributor access on the item and editor a
ccess on the resource type for copy to be exposed.
Problem Solution:
The code was updated to correct this behavior.
Affected Users:
All users who leverage the WCM API.

Temporary fix

  • none / provide editor access on item being copied
