Error description

  • Search order for COBOL Copybooks is not maintained during nested
    copybook browse/edits.
In the case described below, if the user tries to mark and
select a copybook nested within a copybook, it will not display.

    Recreation:

    - Create a PDS dataset on the host with a small COBOL main
program and two copybooks. The MAIN program copies COPY1 and
    COPY1 copies COPY2.
    - The MAIN program also references a dataname in COPY1, let's
    call AA.
    - Copy all 3 members into an RDz Project and associate a
property group. It can be simple with only a COBOL tab and
ELAXFCOC pointing to the host library.
    - Open the MAIN program.
    - Hold down CTRL (the left one on the keyboard) and move the
mouse on AA of statement that references AA, then click keep
your finger on CTRL until the click).
    - AA will be underlined and the copybook COPY1 will display
    - Switch to the COPY1 with the editor
    - Double click on COPY2 to mark or highlight
    - Right click --? Browse (or open, same result).
    - Message CRRZI0019E stating that: 'The copy file cannot be
found in the SYSLIB library. Verify that both the file and the
    library are allocated properly. '

    Additional:
However, if the user tries some other sequences of operations,
he may then be able to display COPY2 using the script above
    every time.
But if RDz is brought down and restarted the problem described
    will occur again.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Needed to add editor context to the file that is being opened
through the Open Declaration Action. This gets added when you
double click on a file, or when open copy member is done.
