Rational Application Developer version 8.0.1:

project

A "this annotation requires a web service project" marker is
appearing on @WebService annotations in JAX-WS web service
thin-client projects (Java Projects).

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This warning message is incorrect and can be safely ignored.
 The validator has been updated to only flag the @WebService
annotations on classes and not interfaces.

The fix for this issue is included in Rational Application
Developer version 8.0.3.
