Error description

• Rational Application Developer v7.5.5.1 through to v7.5.5.3 may
  hang when opening the web deployment descriptor file (web.xml)
  if the default validators are enabled.

  A deadlock would occur when trying to load the shared model
  for particular files in the workspace. In this scenario, an
  exception is being thrown while loading the text into the
  document's buffer.  As a result of this exception a lock is
  not being released leading to the deadlock.
  

Problem conclusion

• The model manager will now properly release locks when a
  model fails to load due to an exception. This is fixed in
  Rational Application Developer v7.5.5.4.
