PM30482: RDZ 7.6 CREATES ORPHANED DATASETS FROM ERROR FEEDBACK

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When certain tasks are performed such as a subproject is
  rebuilt, remote syntax check is performed, or a refresh
  dependencies for a remote project is selected, a number of error
  datasets are created if the error feedback is configured.
  Between 3 to 6 datasets with the syntax of
  <HLQ>.ERRCOB.<COBOLPROGRAM>.Z######.XML will be created and
  remain on the host.  These do not currently get purged.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• This problem is caused by not going after the error feedback
  side files for deletion, as well as not going after and deleting
  all of the error feedback files allocated before the job, when
  the job abends, or there is a JCL Error.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
