PM30391: RBD encryption corrupts build password

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The error is seen RBD 7.5.1.x
  
  In the egl build parts editor, when the encrypted fields like
  destpassword are filled with passwords, in some cases the
  passwords seem to be corrupted.
  
  Example passwords that get corrupted are: 12345 or 123456789 or
  ITDCIR21.
  A pattern is not discernable. Most passwords have no problem,
  for example itdcir21.
  
  After entering the password, if a Cobol generate is attempted ,
  the build fails with incorrect password message.
  
  So for these passwords, it seems that after the password  is
  decrypted, we do not get back the entered password.

  Certain strings cause an invalid encrypted string to be
  returned. This is seen on the BuildDescriptor page on the
  DestPatssord or SQLPassword fields. Because the values are
  encrypted incorrectly, the decrypted value is not usable.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix has been put into the code that was causing the bad
  encryption.
  
  Because the problem was on the encryption, the strings will
  need to be re-encrypted (reenter the values in the build
  descriptor editor) before they can be used.
