Problem summary
There were two issues in the generated driver code that would cause an abend to occur if a response data structure was not selected on the Wizard (in-only Web service). 1) The driver would explicitly abend if at least one of DFH-DATA or DFH-BODY could not be found on the channel, and 2) The driver would attempt to a free a work area that was not allocated when neither DFH-DATA nor DFH-BODY is present on the channel because a group-level COBOL INITIALIZE statement was not initializing the work area pointer to NULL.
Problem conclusion
The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.2 Fix Pack which is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2294&uid=swg27006335
