PM28866: Out of memory error while generating a tractability report where same PAGED collection has to be traversed over and over agai

Error description

• Problem Description:

  Client is trying to have a tractability report over DOORS and
  RQM with RPE. Hence they have designed the attached template.
  It runs ok with demo data but has problems with larger
  production databases. RPE core dumped after 2 hours with the
  attached out of memory exception.
  
  They are using XML data sources for RQM as XML data sources can
  be cached by RPE and Performance with REST data source is much
  too slow.  A sample report configured to use XML data sources
  which takes about 20 seconds to get finished would take several
  minutes with REST.
  They have a view in DOORS with around 50 requirements. Those
  requirements have been exported to RQM (DOORS-RQM integration).
  In RQM they have around 4000 test cases related to requirements.
  The 50 selected requirements are 50 out of around 700
  requirements.
  In a RPE template, they want to output those 50 requirements
  with their related test cases.
  
  Their current template is built in such a way that for every
  requirement all 4000 test cases will be looped to find the right
  test case(s) that belong to that requirement. The report
  generation in DOORS took about 2 hours and 796000 elements until
  they got an out of memory error (attached).
  
  They run it on a Windows XP machine with 2 GB of RAM.

  requiements from DOORS or many RQM test cases) and for some
  template designs, users may notice an out of memory error.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed issue which caused users to notice out of memory
  errors in certain situation, especially for large data sets
  used with some template designs.
