PM27825: RDz: Cancel doesn't work during local syntax check

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Pressing the Cancel button on the Progress Information window
  has no affect after a local or remote syntax check or during a
  local build.
  
  When performing a local syntax check of a COBOL program with
  many copybooks which contains an error RDz may take an extended
  amount of time to build the remote error list and canceling this
  process has no affect.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Our code does not check for cancel requests during long running
  processes such as compiling source files or processing the
  compiler generated error messages
  

Problem conclusion

• The local build will now check for a cancel request at the
  following steps: 1) after the compile of each file, 2) after the
  compile error message processing for each file, 3) after the
  link, 4) after the error message processing for the link.  Local
  and remote syntax check will check for a cancel request 1) after
  the compile and 2) after compile error message processing.
  
  A more complete solution will be provided as part of RFEID 8508
  since such a solution will require several API changes (in order
  to pass a ProgressMonitor down to the classes doing the actual
  long running work so that they can periodically check the
  monitor to see if a cancel has been requested).
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
