Error description

  • When a build manager cancels the baseline creation process from
the Synergy GUI by either clicking the 'Red X' or the Window's
'X' icon, the tool does cancel the operation but creates a
baseline nonetheless. The baseline appears to be in an
    inconsistent state.

The result is a baseline that contains prep projects as opposed
to static copies. This can reportedly lead to fs_check problems
(missing cache file for non-static projects).

Support has found that canceling a baseline creation results in
a baseline getting created but put into the 'deleted_baseline'
state, and that it contains newly created prep subprojects
instead of static ones. One might expect the newly created
subprojects to either become static or be deleted altogether.

Having extra prep projects causes confusion for Synergy admin
charged with cleaning up. Worse, the problem may go unnoticed
for some period of time which makes cleaning up more difficult
after more history has been introduced.
