Error description

• In Internet Explorer v8, selecting all text in the Rich Text
  Editor and applying a formatting tag will cause the format tag
  to become visible in the generated HTML.

  In Internet Explorer v8, selecting all text in the JWL
  RichText Editor and applying formatting to it will cause
  ?XMP? tag to become visible in the generated HTML.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is caused by a change in Internet Explorer v8 so
  that the RTE component had to re-act to. Processing of HTML
  ?XMP? tag changed in Internet Exploerer v8 and RTE did not
  account to that change. The problem has been fixed in
  Rational Application Developer v7.5.5.3
