The product may hangs for 40+ minutes when installing
Server-side technologies facet. This only happens when selecting
the facet during creation of dynamic Web project. If you create
the project and go back to set the facet afterwords you don't
get the issue.

?To Reproduce?
i. Start Rational Application Developer using a new workspace

ii. Select [File] ? [New] ? [Project] ? [Web] ? [Dynamic Web
Project]
iii. Set project name field e.g. = sample
iv. Select target runtime = Default Configuration for WebSphere
Application Server v7.0
v. In the Configuration section on same page of wizard, click
[Modify]
vi. Put a check in whole Web 2.0 feature group and click OK
vii. Go Next for four screens and then click [Finish]

Problem conclusion


    

  • Rational Application Developer no longer hangs when creating
a Dynamic Web Project when including the Server-side
technologies and targeting Websphere Application Server 7.0.

The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application
Developer version 8.0.2.
