PM24283: DataTable for ISeries containing dbchar fields corrupted

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The main program display a form, and depnding on the input,
  copies a dbcs field field from a data table into a dbcs field in
  a form.
  and redisplayes the form.
  
  On iseries, the displayed data is garbled. (on inspection the
  binary table file that has been created looks corrupted)

  The data table had two problems when DBCS characters were
  being used, on iSeries. The first problem was that the build
  descriptor's server code page was not being used for
  translation. The second problem was that spaces were not
  being correctly added to the end of the field, causing
  improper SO/SI character arrangements.
  

Problem conclusion

• Software updated. Fixtest available.
