PM23966: Debugging variables view, error = The format of the value failed.

Error description

• When debugging in RD/z, error is:  the format of the value
  failed.  Happens after changing the variables view.  Change one
  of the items in the variables view from String to Hexadecimal.
  Then click Step-over a few times.
  All of the sudden all variables gives the error 'The format of
  the value failed.'
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The variables view will show  "The format of the value failed."
  for any variable which does not have its correct internal
  format.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code was added to display variables in hex format whenever a
  variable does not have its correct internal format.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
