PM23914: picture in word document gets exported to module as 2 separate objects

Rational DOORS Fix Pack 5 (9.3.0.5) for 9.3

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Problem
  Importing the attached document into a module will result in the
  picture being split across 2 objects.
  
  On Word 2007 the problem is even worse, 2 separate objects are
  created, but they are both blank.
  
  To Reproduce
  Open the attached document in Word and export it to DOORS.

  Following defect can be divided into two separate defects:
  1. WordArt object is exported as 2 separate objects.
  2. WordArt object is not being copied to DOORS module (it
  has only empty placeholder with size of the WordArt object)
  in Word 2007 and newer.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. Investigations of the Word Documents' Structure has shown
  that Word 2003 and newer has an additional element (anchor)
  and it can be found by comparing 'croppedRange' to  0x1 0x15
  - Exporting this small element was creating an empty object
  on the DOORS side.
  Solution: If Word version is higher then 11 (Word 2003 or
  newer) then elements with 0x1 0x15 are not exported to
  DOORS.
  
  2. This defect was introduced with Word 2007 (Office 12)
  where WordArt got redesigned and has new representation in
  Word Document structure. msoCanvas was always a bit
  different then other Shape types in VBA (Visual Basic for
  Applications) and exported object has static metafile data
  and could not be edited.
  Solution was prepared for Word 2007. With this solution we
  are able now to export msoCanvas with its children to DOORS
  module and edit that later within DOORS.
  This fix is only applied when using Word 2007.
