PM23856: No changes are saved if STATS OFF

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If the PDS or PDS/E member has no ISPF statistics, then changes
  made to it are not saved.
  

Local fix

• Within ISPF, view the member, then type STATS ON.
  

Problem summary

• Users Affected:
  Users of RDz who open files with  no timestamp on the host.
  .
  Problem Description:
  If there is no timestamp (i.e. STATS OFF or a sequential file),
  then double clicking on
  an error marker or on the file via system view, will cause the
  file to be reloaded into
  the editor, causing unsaved changes to be lost.
  (In 7.6.1 there is a warning message first, but apparently not
  in 7.6.0).
  

Problem conclusion

• Program error corrected. The fix has been provided so that RDz
  does not re-download the file if locked and no timestamp on
  the host.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
