PM22607: Compiled COBOL XML Converter Memory Leak in IMS Connect

Error description

• MEMORY LEAK USING OPTION XMLPARSE(COMPAT)
  This happens in IMS connect.  See APAR PM00230 which
  must be installed on the z/OS system too. The PTF
  for PM00230 must be installed before or at the same
  time as the solution for this APAR.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• RDz COBOL Compiled XML Converters leak memory when run multiple
  times in the same LE enclave instance.  The leak is due to a
  failed cleanup of LE error handling control blocks in the
  Enterprise COBOL V3+ XML PARSE and V4+ XML PARSE
  w/XMLPARSE(COMPAT) statements.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Enterprise COBOL V3 XML PARSE and V4 XML PARSE
  w/XMLPARSE(COMPAT) have been enhanced to support explicit
  indication that LE services will be used in the PROCESSING
  PROCEDURE and any related control blocks should be cleaned up
  after the END-OF-DOCUMENT event.  Indication is given by moving
  1 to XML-CODE on START-OF-DOCUMENT.  The RDz COBOL Compiled XML
  Converters include an additional statement on START-OF-DOCUMENT,
  "MOVE 1 TO XML-CODE", to take advantage of the enhancement and
  eliminate the memory leak.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.1 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
