    1. Problem description and statement

Customer is trying to install silently using IM 1.4 with the
attached response file and is getting the following error:
    - ERROR: Failed to load bundle
    com.ibm.ws.detect.running.process.

WAS L2 and L3 recreated using the following command with the
    provided response file:
      C:\IBM\InstallationManager\eclipse?IBMIMc.exe
    --launcher.ini
     silent-install.ini -input C:\test\guiifx.xml

    WAS L3 stated the following:
    - As a workaround solution which is tested in development
    environment,
adding an ?import? command in the silent response file will
    force the
    com.ibm.ws.detect.running.process plugin to load.

?import type='WAS' profile='IBM WebSphere Application Server
    - ND'/?

Problem conclusion

  • This fix is delivered in IBM Installation Manager v1.4.1.

Add a new method to collect all the offerings to be used by
the prepare operation to determine which ones are applicable
to the fix and need to be prepared for running prerequisite
checks(revert back to the old behavior). Also the updateAll
didn't seem to run the prerequisite checks on the applicable
offerings when applying a fix, fix that as well.

Temporary fix
