Error description

  • When a new JAR added to the EAR library folder of a Java EE 5
EAR project the Enterprise Explorer may not refresh the content
of the project resulting in the JAR not appearing in either the
Enterprise Explorer 'Utility JARs' or 'Binary' logical folder.

If the JAR being added contains a MANIFEST.MF file with the
Main-Class declaration then it should appear under the Modules ?
    Binary logical folder.

If the JAR being added does not contain a MANIFEST.MF file with
the Main-Class declaration then it should appear under the
    'Utility JARs' logical folder.

    ****************************************************************
A new JAR added to the EAR library folder of a Java EE 5 EAR
project may not show up in either the Enterprise Explorer
'Utility JARs' or 'Binary' logical folder.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed so that when a Utility JAR or
binary module file is added to a Java EE 5.0 EAR project
then the Enterprise Explorer is refreshed and lists the file
under the Modules ? Binary or 'Utility JARs' logical folder
depending if it was placed in the EAR's library folder.
Moving the file in and out of the library folder will also
refresh the EAR content to show the file under the correct
    node.

The fixed for this is in Rational Application Developer
    version 8.0.2.
