PM19184: defect for RATLC01531268: Installation Manager 1.4 throws error when attempting to install Websphere Featurepack 1

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Configuration is as follows:
  Rational Application Developer 7.5.5.1
  Websphere Application Server 7.0.0.3
  Websphere Commerce Developer 7.0.0.1 fixpack 1
  Installation Manager 1.4 (which will be automatically updated if
   any IM update is required for other product installs) will thro
  w the following error when attempting to add WC featurepack 1:

  pack' requires components supplied by other packages.
  
  The required components may be supplied by the specified feature
  s
  of the following installation packages:
  
  Package: IBM WebSphere Commerce developer 7.0.0.1 -- Features:
  
    FixPack 1
  
  Undefined selector 'ee' in component
  
  'com.ibm.commerce.toolkit.native.cmc...'
  This occurs when trying to install the WC + FP1 + FEP1 as well a
  s if WC + FP1 is already installed.  IM logs are attached.
  Workaround
  Everything is installed correctly when using IM version 1.3.4.1

  A component sharing problem in the Installation Manager was
  uncovered when these two packages are installed:
  
  1. Websphere Commerce Developer 7.0.0.1 fixpack 1
  2. IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer Feature Pack 1.0.0
  
  These packages include two different versions of the
  installation component:
  com.ibm.commerce.toolkit.native.cmc.enterprise with
  different API (different selectors)
  

Problem conclusion

• The Installation Manager defect has been fixed to allow the
  installation of these two packages.  This fix is delivered
  in the 1.4.1 IBM Installation Manager.
