APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Update in place (replacing an existing asset without updating
  the version number) which is possible when using the Rational
  Asset Manager rich client is not possible through Rational
  Software Architect Publish Asset when modifying an asset.
  
  The only workaround for this is to use the Rational Asset
  Manager rich client to modify/update the modeling asset in
  Rational Asset Manager.

Problem conclusion

• The defect is fixed in our 7.5.5.2 and 8.0 releases. Added a
  new check box called "Overwrite version" on the publish
  wizard selection page. If the the check box is selected, it
  is not a version update operation (replacing existing asset
  without updating the version number). If the check box is
  not selected, it is a normal commit operation (creating a
  new version for the asset). By default, the check box is not
  selected.
