PM18401: performance of export to Excel 300% worse between 8.3 and 9.2.x

Error description

• Problem
  Exporting large modules to Excel performs poorly in 9.2.x
  compared to 8.3. The users data which they are not able to
  provide shows a decrease in performance of 800%. With the data
  we created and attached to the case the performance is 300%
  worse. The module in question has 17000 objects and a few user
  defined attrs.
  
  To Reproduce
  With 9204 do the following
  
  - restore the attached module
  - open the module and switch to 'view 1'
  - export to Excel (choose to display both obj head/text for the
  main column)
  - time how long it takes
  
  Now try the same with 8.3 and compare results. MIne are as
  follows:
  
  8.3 - 3 mins
  9204 - 10 mins
  
  
  Possible Workarounds
  use export to csv? or continue to wait.

• The code has been changed so that the performance is now
