PM18299: THERE IS AN ERROR IN XML FILE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The customer open Excel and the excel plugin GOOffice. When he
  drag and drop an report into an excel sheet, then the following
  error message occurs:  'There is an error in xml document' You
  can find the following german error message in the log file from
  gooffice:  '! EXCEPTION RAISED Fehler im XML-Dokument (240,34).
  bei Cognos.COC.CommonUI.UIManager.GetReportData_Callback(IResult
  ResponseResult) !!'  It occurs also in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  It does not matter which element are in the report. The behavior
  is also the same, when the report includes only one text item.
  The error message occur also when the client delete the database
  connection to the metric store.
