PM16627: USER FRIENDLY WARNING MESSAGE ON WCM AUTHORING PORTLET WHILE EXECUTING REMOTE ACTIONS.

Error description

  • User friendly warning message on WCM authoring Portlet while
executing remote actions.

If failure occurs while executing the remote action "copy as
draft" , following stacktrace is shown in WCM authoring UI.

This APAR avoids this entire stacktrace to be shown on WCM
authoring UI and shows following User friendly warning message
in case of failure.

"IWKMU1062X: Message: Could not save object in repository."

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • When remote actions are used during stress testing a
RepositoryException occurs for the end user.
The full stack trace is returned as the cause and is seen in the
UI.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A change was made to return the simple error string and log the
RepositoryException to the Portal log files.
