APAR status

Error description

  • COBOL compiler loops repeatedly issuing message "IGYRC5224-U A
    recursive entry to the COBOL exception handler occurred".
    This problem was reported by an RAA customer using RDz 7.6
    COBOL compilers for compiler-based scanner (CBS).
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • This is a storage corruption issue in the compiler, coupled with
    a problematic signal handling code.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The signal handling was modified to terminate earlier, and the
    storage overlay was removed.
    
    The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
    IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.1 Fix Pack which
    is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
