PM14973: REPAIR SET NOAUXCHKP, REMOVE CHECK FOR LOB COLUMN IN BASE TABLE

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In DB2 V8, REPAIR SET NOAUXCHKP run on base tablespace without
  a LOB column, REPAIR fails rc8. In DB2 V9 with APAR PK40974,
  REPAIR does not fail. This APAR removes the check for LOB col
  in base table for DB2 V8 like done in APAR PK40974 for DB2 V9.
  
  Even though the ACHKP would not be set on for a tablespace that
  is not a base table for a LOB, removing the check allow REPAIR
  to end RC0.
  

Local fix

• Do not specify NOAUXCHKP on a tablespace with a LOB column.

  AUXCHKP dbet state is only supported on the base table space
  of a table that has a LOB (or XML in Version 9) column. The
  code tests the condition correctly, but prints incorrect table
  space type when MSGDSNU076I is issued.
  
  Similar problem also occurs when using REPAIR SET NOAUXWARN.
  AUXWARN is supported on the actual LOB table space or the base
  table space of a table that has a LOB column.
  

Problem conclusion

• Version 8 code has been changed to issue the following message:
  o When trying to set NOAUXCHKP on an invalid table space:
    DSNU076I  DSNUCBRS - KEYWORD=NOAUXCHKP INVALID FOR BASE TABLE
    SPACE WITHOUT LOB COLUMNS OR LOB TABLE SPACE=<dbname.tsname>.
  
  o When trying to set NOAUXWARN to an invalid table space:
    DSNU076I  DSNUCBRS - KEYWORD=NOAUXCHKP INVALID FOR BASE TABLE
    SPACE WITHOUT LOB COLUMNS TABLE SPACE=<dbname.tsname>.
  
  Version 9 code has been changed to issue the following message:
  o When trying to set NOAUXWARN to an invalid table space:
    DSNU076I  DSNUCBRS - KEYWORD=NOAUXCHKP INVALID FOR BASE TABLE
    SPACE WITHOUT LOB COLUMNS OR XML TABLE SPACE=<dbname.tsname>.
