PM13281: PARENT COMPONENT IS NOT RENDERED WHEN A USER DOES NOT HAVE ACCES S TO A COMPONENT EMBEDDED IN IT

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Consider the case when a Rich Text or HTML component (say,
ComponentA) refers another component (say, ComponentB) using the
Component tag embedded in it. If a user has access to ComponentA
and not ComponentB, the expected result is that ComponentA would
    be rendered.
However, due to some changes introduced in CF28, neither
    ComponentA not ComponentB are rendered.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Parent component is not rendered when a user does not have
access to a component embedded in it.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue was due to a new check added in the component
reference rendering code in CF28. The check has been modified to
account for the scenario when a user does not have access to the
    embedded component.
