APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• ClassNotFoundException exception is thrown when the server
  classpath does not have the value class when using the
  COPY_TO_BYTES CopyMode.  There are cases where the eXtreme
  Scale runtime does not need to inflate the value to its Object
  form, but the runtime was still inflating the values.

  The WebSphere eXtreme Scale runtime was changed to no longer
  convert the value of a map entry from a byte array to its
  Object form when that Object form is not needed.  This change
  allows users who are using the COPY_TO_BYTES CopyMode to not
  require their value classes on the server classpath when they
  are not using OptimisticCallbacks, MapIndexPlugins, Loaders,
  queries, or any other plug-in that requires the value to be
  inflated.
  

Problem conclusion

• An interim fix will be made available for this APAR.  A future
  cumulative fix will correct the problem for WebSphere eXtreme
  Scale Version 7.0.
