Error description

  • Summary:
New GUID s after merge break projects

    Description:
Merging two different versions of a model element generate new G
    UID s
in the resultant model element. If this happens and the merge is
     done
on a single sbs file the projects using this model element cant
    find
the element. A Add to model operation have to be executed. If
    many
projects use that sbs files, many Add to model operations have
     to be
    executed.

    1) It would be nice to have a description of the thinking behind

    Rhapsody and parallel development.

    2) A property that control if new GUID s are generated.

Currently, the defective behaviour is not reproduceable at suppo
    rt.
However, customer had logged a Defect for the same with ID: 1097
    14.
Telelogic TST case ID: 7026876 almost 2 years back.

    Customer Comments:

From my point of view there is no need sharing our model at this
     time.
It will not provide you with more information than you already h
    ave. The
problem described in ticket 109714 seems to be a well known defe
    ct/
behaviour of DiffMerge. The ticket was created, investigated and
     problem
    confirmed back in 2008!

Please send this request to your development team.
