APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Pre-requisites:
    
    RDS on Solaris Server, in Corporate mode connecting to an Active
    Directory installation on Windows Machine.
    Synergy Server on Windows 2003 Server (Not the same server as
    the Active Directory Windows Machine)
    Synergy Server connected to RDS Server, specifying the IP
    Address of the RDS Server in the system_info.txt file.
    Synergy Client on Windows XP machine.
    
    Steps to reproduce:
    
    1. Create two users in the Active directory, user1 and user2.
    
    2. Ensure user1 and user2 have access to a Synergy database,
    e.g. each user has developer role.
    
    3. Start a Synergy session in Web Mode as user1 and user2 to
    confirm both users can log on.
    
    4.
    After verifying that both users can log on, disconnect the
    Synergy Server from the network by unplugging the network cable
    for a brief period, e.g. 15 seconds.
    
    5.
    Then attempt to launch the Synergy Web Mode client as user1 and
    user2. Note the
    warning message when the client fails to start: Invalid username
    or password.
    This implies that the password is either expired or invalid.
    
    Impact:
    
    No users can log in to Synergy using the Java Client in Web
    mode.
    
    Workaround:
    
    Restart the Synergy web server using the commands:
    ccm_server -stop
    ccm_server -start
