PM07306: multiple operations hitting the same cache file at the same time corrupts it

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When multiple Synergy processes are attempting to populate the c
  ache at the same time the cache file can get corrupted with dupl
  ication of contents.  This is seen as a direct result of the cac
  he file being deleted with the ccm clean_cache -used command bei
  ng run in an aggressive manner.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• It was possible for multiple Synergy sessions to perform
  simultaneous archive extraction to repopulate the cache.
  This caused inconsistent data to be written to the cache
  file.
  

Problem conclusion

• Fixed in the next release. Patch available for 6.5sp1,
  6.5sp2, and 7.1.0.1
