Error description

  • Specifying an ampersand in a password for the local admin user
    during installation does not work and requires the password to
    be reset in the local_admin.xml file.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Begin the installation of Change 5.2

    2. When asked to specify the Local Admin User, use a password
    that contains ? (ampersand).

    For example: password?123

    3. Complete the installation of Change.

    4. Start the Change server:

    ?CHANGE_HOME?/jetty/csctl.sh start

    5. Go to the Change Admin Log in Webpage:

    http://server:port/change/admin

    6. Attempt to log in as the Local Admin User.

    Note Error: Invalid User ID or Password

    Work Around:

    1. Go to the following directory on the server:

    ?CHANGE_HOME?/jetty/webapps/change/WEB-INF/wsconfig

    2. Edit the local_admin.xml file.

    3. Change the following line:

    ?password?xR3fOZlO7bQX4ZOQ/5ujrw==?/password?

    to:

    ?password-unencrypted?password?amp;123?/password-unencrypted?

    Note: ampersand needs to be encoded. To do this, ampersand needs
    to be followed by amp;

    4. Restart Change

    5. Log in as the local admin user.

    Note: Log in should be successful.

    Other notes:

    After successful log in, the local admin user can log in to the
    User interface and change the password to a new password that
    contains an ampersand successfully. This is not possible
    directly post installation as the CR Process Package is not
    installed.
