Problem summary

  • Customer is experiencing the following problem:
"Runtime error - Object variable or with block variable not
set" when editing a document via ReqWeb and tagging a new
    requirement.

This error is thrown, if the user attempts to tag a
requirement by either clicking on the Create Requirement
button, going to RequisiteWeb ? Requirement ? New Mark, or
    RequisiteWeb ? Requirement ?New Wizard.

The problem is specific to all documents in a project, where
the project has a requirement type where the name of the
requirement type includes an "?" character.

    To reproduce this behavior.
    - In a project, create a requirement type, with Name:
    "Functional ? Non-functional Reqs"
      (for example)

    - Any document in this project, will now experience this
problem. So in ReqWeb, open any document and select Edit.

    - In the downloaded document, select text and try to create
a new requirement (either clicking on the Create requirement
button, or from the RequisiteWeb menu options)

    - The error will be thrown.

    Work-around:
    - Remove the "?" from the requirement type name.

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the Word Macros with a validation that will format
the XML file that contain the Requirement types, because
when the XML contain an "?" character it will not work, so
the format will be change the "?" by "?amp;".
