  Description.
  Generated Java from EGL source file which includes constant fiel
  ds produces an error and cannot be compiled.
  
  When a field is defined as constant as a host variable in an SQL
   statement the generated Java code does not compile due to the f
  ollowing example error:
  The method getValue() is undefined for the type String column ty
  pe test/_005f087/constant/java/generation y4b087.java line 70
  
  The error appears to be calling getValue on a String literal the
  reafter prodcuing this error.
  
  Removing the getValue call in the generated Java code will remov
  e the error and allow compilation.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Generated Java programs may not compile if an SQL host
  variable is a const.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been fixed.
