PM05336: ERROR WHEN OPENING POWERPLAY STUDIO REPORT IN ANALYSIS STUDIO

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using a distributed install of 8.4FP2 BI Server and PP
    server (GW, RS, CM) and deployed to websphere, if you create a
    new report in powerplay studio and select to "Open with analysis
    studio", the following error will be displayed:
    
    (Windows)
    PRS-PRO-0504 An error occurred while generating the web page
    PRS-OBJ-0606 The block organiser for block "/migration
    server/migrate_pp.xts" could not be created.
    PRS-BLK-0667 an exception was encountered when block
    "puntToMigration" was executed. PRS-BLI-0727 XTS interpreter
    execution failed and so on.....
    
    (Solaris)
    MGD-MSG-0397 An error occured while processing the following
    file:
    '/var/tmp/migrsvp/xxxxx..../migws.ProviderPPX/file.ppx.xml'
    
    If you check the CM cogserver.log, you can see it is trying to
    resolve the migdeploy folder inside the websphere installation
    directory rather than the c8 install location:
    
    C:\IBM\websphere\appserver\profiles\migdeploy\log_icons
    instead of the c8 installation.
    
    Also note the CM is deployed into
    C:\IBM\websphere\appserver\profiles\AppSrv01\installedapps\serve
    rnodecell\C8CM
    
    Issue cannot be reproduced with tomcat.
    

Local fix

  • Copy migdeploy folder into the websphere profile root directory.
