PM05102: LPEX Syntax indicates errors for comment lines

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Client using Rational Developer for System z V7.6.0.1 editing a
  Remote COBOL Application. When the program is edited by the
  LPEX Editor there are several errors indicated with a yellow
  triangle which are not error. This is confirmed by viewing the
  compiler output shows the statements as being syntactically
  correct. However the errors prevents Open Declaration and
  Open Perform Hierarchy to functionality.

Problem summary

• Parsing code in the COBOL Editor did not allow for CICS option
  keywords like COMMAREA to be used as identifiers in an ADDRESS
  OF or LENGTH OF clause.

• A fix to the parsing code in the COBOL Editor to allow for CICS
  option keywords like COMMAREA to be used as identifiers in an
  ADDRESS OF or LENGTH OF clause.
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.1 Refresh Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
