Error description
Reported by a customer using ksh print statements in their makef ile to format output to the Make window. While it works perfectly in the Classic Client, in the Synergy c lient the formatting characters are being ignored. For example the following simple makefile: SHELL=ksh all: print 'a\tb' prints this in the Classic Client: a b and this in the Synergy Client: ab The java interface is not handling the tab character correctly.|
Local fix
Problem summary
Problem is caused by our special text area optimized for low memory consumption and speed. It doesn't have proper handling for the tab character.
Problem conclusion
Simply replaced the tab character with a single space so at least characters are separated by some space when using the tab character. It isn't totally proper handling of tab, but to add that to our optimized text area would make it bloated.
