Error description

  • In Cognos 8.4 Report studio, the nested page set is added under
a master page set. If define more than two grouping items under
the nested page set, and pass an empty value from the prompt to
the report, RSV-SRV-0040 error message will show up.

Local fix

  • do not pass empty value through prompt
