PK99699: Running a series of command with RDz Debug Tool for Assembler ca uses unexpected errors

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Running a series of RDz Debug Console commands fails.
  Reproducing is intermittent.
  The exact error is  'Source file TSQS161.EQALANGX(ASMCLE)
  was not found', however, it is found.
  Several recreations were attempted with varied results:
  Run a command list and step-by-step execution leads to different
  results in debug GUI for assembler debugging.
  This occurs only if you use run to end button in the debug
  console and if  the LDD command for the active assembler
  program is first or second followed by more LDD statements
  execution.
  
  A window starts up informing the user the eqalangx file can not
  be opened.  Click on ok and then the eqalangx is being
  displayed twice.
  After restarting the workbench an additional tab sppears called
  debug editor.
  If you click on it, it disappears and no source is displayed.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• While debugging an assembler program, the run to end action in
  the debug console, can generate a NullPointerException
  and two editor instances being opened (for the same source
  file).
  

Problem conclusion

• Loading of view file lines in a separate job (thread) can
  generate a NullPointerException.
  The fix is not to use a separate job.
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.1 Refresh Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
