PK99334: FRAMEWORK MANAGER CRASHES WHEN SAVING MODEL REPORT IN XML FORMAT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Framework Manager freezes for several (5-10) minutes when
  clicking Save in Tools > Model Report after selecting XML
  format. After several minutes, the Save dialog appears, and the
  actual Save process is quickly finished. However, if the user
  then clicks Close (instead of the Red 'X'), Framework Manager
  freezes for several (5-10) minutes again.
  
  This issue has been reproduced on IBM Cognos 8 BI 8.3 SP3, 8.4
  GA, and 8.4 SP2.
  
  There is no suitable explanation for the poor performance. At
  the very least, FM should indicate that this may take some time.
  In addition, closing a dialog window should not take so long
  when simply clicking the Close hyperlink (as opposed to the red
  'X', which closes the Dialog quickly).
