• Rational Software Architect(RSA) for WebSphere Software 7.5.3
  
  Description of problem:
  If the .project file is inaccessible during migration of the bui
  lder com.ibm.sse.model.structuredbuilder, the migration will fai
  l; however, the failure is not logged.  The particular scenario
  presented was because the .project file was marked as Hidden on
  the filesystem.  This causes Java to throw a FileNotFoundExcepti
  on.  At the migration operation level, this exception was discar
  ded.
  
  Step to reproduce:
  1) Have a zip file from RSA 6.0 or one from RSA 7.0 (FixPack bef
  ore 7.0.0.8) which contains a project with builder com.ibm.sse.m
  odel.structuredbuilder
  2) Use File ? Import, Existing projects into workspace
  3) Migration dialog is shown and user walks through
  Result:
  Migration Results view shows no problems
  .project file contains still builder com.ibm.sse.model.structure
  dbuilder
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• After migration, the SSE task tag builder is still present
  in the .project file with no notification as to why this
  failed.
  

Problem conclusion

• The migrator will now log the CoreException that could
  prevent the migration from occurring. The root problem is
  with how Java handles hidden files, so this is the best
  course of action.
