Error description

  • 225966
Setting the DMCA in a Rhapsody/Eclipse model to 'None' is not
saved. Setting it to 'Bidirectional, Roundtrip, or Code
Generation' will be saved. An example would be that if you open
a model and the DMCA is set to 'Roundtrip' and you set it to
'None', save, then close the model, and reopen it the DMCA will
    still be set to 'Roundtrip'.

This functionality works perfectly when using only Rhapsody. It
is the Rhapsody/Eclipse integration that has the problem.

There is also some confusion in the documentation/help for
property 'ModelCodeAssociativityFineTune'. It states that the
possible values are 'Bidirectional, Roundtrip, Code Generation,
and None'. However, 'None' is not available from the dropdown
menu. If you set the DMCA to 'Roundtrip, Code Generation, or
Bidirectional' and save, the corresponding value will be
    displayed in the 'ModelCodeAssociativityFineTune' property.
However, setting the DMCA to 'None' is not displayed in the
    'ModelCodeAssociativityFineTune' property. Whatever value
displayed before the change to 'None' will still be displayed.
This is causing confusion at both the customer and support
    level.

When using Rhapsody alone and the DMCA is set to either
'Bidirectional, Roundtrip, or Code Generation' the rhapsody.ini
property of ModelCodeAssociativityMode will be set to 'Dynamic'.
Setting the DMCA to 'None' will cause this property to be set to
'Batch'. Should this property change values based on the DMCA
setting in the Rhapsody perspective in Eclipse? Changing the
DMCA in Eclipse has no affect on the .ini file in Rhapsody.

Local fix

  • If "None" is required for Rhapsody/Eclipse integration it must
be reset to "None" every time the model is opened.

Problem summary

  • Rhapsody / Eclipse does not save DMCA when set to "None"
    (PMR 40600442000 - APAR PK93233).

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed in 7.5.1
