PK93182: INTERMITTENTLY GETTING THE FOLLOWING ERROR WHEN SCHEDULING REPORTS DPR-ERR-2056 THE REPORT SERVER IS NOT RESPONDING.

APAR status

Error description

  • Getting intermittent error when scheduling reports on the
    following environment:
    
    1) Distributed 32bit cognos 8.4 install on windows 2003 server
    SP2 64-bit
    2) Distributed environment is as follows:
       - Content manager only install on one server
       - Content manager and report server install on another server
       - Report Server install on another server
       - Gateway install on another server
    3) Gateway is running on IIS 6.0
    4) Content store database is MS SQL server
    
    The error message seen on report run history is:
    
    DPR-ERR-2056 The Report Server is not responding. Handler trace

    Rerunning the report works without any issues. Also the above
    error appears intermittently and sometimes the report executes
    without any issues for hours.
    
    Please follow steps in the testcase tab to reproduce the
    problem.
