Error description

  • A documentation update has been requested as follows:
    
    When downloading any FixPack from the Cognos website there are
    steps outlined showcasing installation steps and then refer back
    to the Installation and Configuration guide. When a client uses
    a 3rd party application server there is no direction to redeploy
    the application back to the app server afterwards. It was
    suggested to add verbiage to this effect. For example:
    
    ****************************************************************
    NOTE: If a third-party application server is being used such as
    Websphere, Weblogic or JBOSS, the application MUST be redeployed
    after applying the fixpack to the environment. Please consult
    the Installation and Configuration Guide, chapter 13:
    Configuring IBM Cognos 8 for an Application Server other than
    Tomcat under the sub-heading Configure IBM Cognos Components to
    Run Within the Application Server for further instructions.

    Benefit: This would have deterred at least one PMR which lasted
    almost a month until we discovered the redeploy process was not
    being done properly.
